I have had this cap for about 12 years. Two years ago I noticed that the paint was peeling in a couple of places. Just waxed my truck - an annual event, and there are now places that have trapped water between the base coat and the top coat. And, no, I did not wax my top for the first two years.

The cap is functional and good except for the paint finish. It has some dull spots like if the clear coat wasn't evenly applied, it also has some rough to the touch feel, maybe overspray. The windows have waterspots on them too.

I have not used my topper YET for it's intended use of becoming my MOTEL/sleeping quarters for a month of road trips to ski resorts/areas in the Rocky, Cascade and Sierra Mountains. I have retrofitted the entire interior with 2 inch (R-13) insulation to make it more comfortable during the winter conditions I am expecting(hoping) to experience. My wife is happy with the quality of the color matching to our GMC Sierra and it's fit and finish. Adding a BedRug was recommended by a friend and so far it seems to be a good additions. Am looking forward to starting my intended road trip.
